Personal Statement

I have degrees in Psychology (BA) and International Relations (MA), a TESOL certificate, and have also done extensive course work in Philosophy, Physics and Genetics. Over the past 12 years, I have taught and designed curricula and materials for Thai government and private schools (primary and secondary levels), private language schools and a private university in Bangkok (Dusit Thani College). I have taught a range of subjects, including English, Advanced Composition, Social Psychology, Principles of Communication, Math, History and Social Sciences.
In 2011, I completed a successful internship at UNESCO's Bangkok office, in the Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID), during which I researched and wrote about international higher education qualification recognition in the region. Prior to coming to Thailand, I worked as a counselor for juvenile in the USA.
I am now working as the Curriculum Development Coordinator for a school in Bangkok, designing curricula and producing a new line of text books. So far, I have authored, designed and published three English-language textbooks, and anticipate publication of the first three Thai-language textbooks in early January.
I have a talent for analysis and organization which has served me well in my academic and professional career. I have excellent interpersonal and intra-organizational communication skills. I have developed excellent networking and relationship-building skills which I believe would be a great asset in the position you have available. I am a hard worker and problem-solver who learns quickly and uses his own initiative to accomplish goals.
